Dotcomtastic
So, as I mentioned in the previous post, I'm now working for a dotcom.
To quote, I dunno, someone in an episode of The West Wing I just watched, "The dotcoms didn't die, only the hype did."
I don't know if that's true, but after my first day of working there, I'm increasingly excited that I am, you know, working there. This job seems like it could be a very good opportunity for me to stretch some muscles that I'm not really used to using (namely doing PR work and the like) while still allowing me to use my strengths (namely writing and, well, surfing the internet).
There's a lot for me to write about, and I promise, promise, promise that I will start writing on a regular basis again soon. At this moment I am working the new job and working my final week at the restaurant, so those are some full days, all while trying to transition from being a night person to a morning person. I'm sure I will pick up shifts again there from time to time just to make some extra cash (I am taking just a little bit of a pay cut while increasing my driving time and expenses just a little bit) but my life as a waiter is ostensibly over.
Can't say I'm sad.
So, let me get through this week and then I'll be on a bit of a regular schedule and I'll be better equipped to ably blog. I always seem to blog better when it becomes part of my routine.
That being said, I have two concerts that I have seen I need to write about (Including the Bob Dylan concert, which I have to write about before my Dad thinks I didn't have any fun) and I definitely have some thoughts about the end of the restaurant era in Dylanland.
In the mean time, those of you who are still left should leave a comment just so I know that my lack of attention to this blog hasn't completely killed it like that Tamagatchi that got old a week after you bought it. This includes those of you who don't read this post for a few weeks or a few months because you, like me, have had lives outside of the nurturing biosphere of the blogiverse.
Tell me what you've been up to.
