Top 100 Films that I've Seen
They're doing this over here, and I thought it was a fun idea. Time put out their Top 100 films and the point is to see how many you've seen:
Barry Lyndon
Casablanca
Chinatown
Citizen Kane
City of God
Dr. Strangelove
E.T. The Extra Terrestrial
Finding Nemo
The Fly
The Godfather I and II
Goodfellas
The Lord of the Rings
The Manchurian Candidate
Metropolis
Pinnochio
Psycho
Pulp Fiction
Purple Rose of Cairo
Raging Bull
Schindler's List
Singin' in the Rain
Some Like it Hot
Star Wars
Taxi Driver
24... hmm... I'm not sure how I feel about that. The Time list is hardly definitive, but there are some interesting picks on there. (And before anyone says it, no, I've never seen "It's a Wonderful Life")

This should be on your to-do list today: buy a copy of Once Upon a Time in the West, lock yourself in a room, watch it.

Crap, that sucks when you have a typo in the title of your post when you send a trackback. Here's the real link.

You're not missing much...I've never liked "It's a Wonderful Life"...I think I may be the only American to ever have said that in the history of the world, but it's true...My Christmas movie is, and always will be, "A Christmas Story".

I like it because there's a really dark movie immediately under the surface. Up until the ending, at least, though I'm cynical enough to think that adds to its allure.

There were only 15 films on the list I have not seen. I was disturbued as I looked at it that almost all of the 15 were foreign films. I thinks its less xenophobia as it is that not many foreign films played the El Dorado theater when I was a kid going to whatever was on each Friday for over 10 years.
