My heart is filled with joy.
Ok, or something like that...
I was reading Pauly D's today in which he tells us that he was nominated in the 2004 Weblog Awards for "Best Humor Blog." I went to go vote for him, and started scrolling down.
I've been nominated for "Best Liberal Blog." To whomever nominated me, thanks a ton.
Now, friends, will you go vote for me? I promise, if elected to change the way you live. I will make ice cream free for all liberals, as well as pizza, chocolate chip cookies, and donuts. All liberals will get 50% off of all alcoholic purchases for the rest of their lives (or at least as long as my reign continues).
The Flamingo will become the national bird.
And Finally....
I will require all red states to refer themselves as living "in the bush." They will be embarrassed by the sexual connotations and so pissed off about the reference to Australia that steam will escape from their ears and they will finally explode into a fine dust which will recollect itself into well-thinking liberals and all of America will become one smoothly-running machine of liberalism.
In other words, a vote for me is a vote for world peace.
Thanks again for reading and voting for me. By the way, you can vote for me once a day.

Congrats! You're not doin' too bad in the exit polls! Good Luck!!

Thanks... I don't think I have a shot at winning, I just hope to make a good showing...5 percent would be spectacular with me.

A passerby, linked in from the Blog awards.
Why would being Australian offend anyone? They've fought with the US in every modern war (including Vietnam) and make very fine riding coats (Driazabones) and cowboy hats (Akubras, made from bunny fur) amongst other things.
Anyway, gratz on the nomination.

Well, Jack... mostly it was a joke, but I wrote it because it seems to me the red-staters are afraid of all "fereners" and austrailia would qualify.
But I hadn't considered the riding coat issue.
Thanks for stopping by, come back anytime...

Well, that is awesome... stuffing the ballot box a bit can't hurt :)

re: the Oz thing. I thought there was an inside joke I was missing, no biggie. There was just a random alignment that had me trip by that particular post. I saw the blog award links today, I'm a blue-state Bush voter, and I used to live in Australia. Unlikely, but unlikely things happen all the time.
