I immediately ran out and got the soundtrack, and it is awesome. The Shins are a revelation...
One of my favorite parts of going to smaller release pictures is the smaller release previews that you get to see. Jude Law, Natalie Portman, and Julia Roberts are going to be in the new Mike Nichols film, 'Closer', and it looked great. And I finally got to see a preview for the 4th film by David O. Russell (of Flirting with Disaster, Three Kings, and Spanking the Monkey fame)... 'I Love Huckabees' looks like an existential comedy that will be one for the ages... a great cast (Dustin Hoffman, Lily Tomlin, Mark Wahlberg, Naomi Watts) and a great look... I'm excited...
Oh! I almost forgot, the newest Wes Anderson movie looks hilarious.
I heard William Shatner on Fresh Air today, and guess what? He's got a new music album coming out, and it was produced by Ben Folds, who also sings, as well as collaborations with Aimee Mann and Bono! I almost have to hear it just to see what kind of strange brew this will make.
